What is AWANA? The acronym AWANA comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” AWANA is an international, nondenominational, Bible-centered youth organization providing discipleship and evangelistic opportunities for children. It allows kids to engage with the Gospel and build a lifelong Christian faith.
When and Where? AWANA is a mid-week (Wednesday nights 6:30-8:00) program offered during the school year approximately mid-September to the end of April each year. Register with the church office for the next AWANA year.
Why? The “Great Commission” found in Matthew 28: 16-20 encourages us that as disciples of Jesus we are called to make disciples. Today’s Children are tomorrow’s leaders. We want to train them to follow the teachings of Jesus. The impact of knowing and growing in Jesus from an early age is not only life-changing, but world-changing as they in turn impact and disciple the next generation.
How? AWANA provides a loving environment for kids to know they belong. Kids engage with caring Christian leaders and other children to learn about Jesus, memorize Scripture verses and grow in their faith all while having a wonderful time. AWANA nights are full of fun themes, games, snacks and opportunities to earn prizes and awards.
